Understanding Darfur

No one condones what is going on in Darfur these days. Yet, despite all of the activism about the genocide, many (myself included) lack a basic understanding of the causes of the genocide. This article from the Nation helps to make sense of the political forces in play in the region and explains why peace in Darfur is still an elusive goal.
